How is it different than the 2nd service?
the strategy is different
As described in 2020 Vision, our desire for our kids to know and love God deeply, who display God's love intentionally, and who participate in His call to be followers of Jesus who produce other followers of Jesus.
Crossroads Kids Club is focused more on student participation as we seek to develop passionate followers of Jesus.
During this service, Bible story teaching is less emphasized, and being a follower of Jesus who engages, empowers, equips and encourages is more emphasized.
We call it age-appropriate discipleship training.
It includes Skills Development: things we all need to be better at, e.g., having conversations, inviting people to church, encouraging people with our words, praying for the lost, understanding people's identity in Christ, speaking truth in love, how to have a quiet time, how to study the Bible, displaying compassion,
During this service, worship is less about the quality of music and more about the students actively joining in worship, singing, playing instruments and following motions.
During this service, learning is less about sitting and listening and more about engaging the whole body, soul, and mind in discovering God's ways, seeing that LIFE in Jesus means following Jesus and walking as He walked.
Want to get involved?
The format is different
During this service...
The kids worship together in a large group setting. In what we will call the Clubhouse.
The kids are separated into Crews and are dispersed a couple times throughout the hour and return back into the larger group.
See the layout below. The colors represent when the kids are dispersed in separate crews.
